Godhan NYAY Yojana brings prosperity to Jai Shriram Self-Help Group
Narayanpur 03 August 2023// Jai Shriram Self-Help Group from Edka Gram Panchayat has become a part of the Chhattisgarh state government’s ambitious Godhan NYAY Yojana. Comprising 10 dedicated female members, the group is making strides under the inspiring leadership of Smt. Sukmati Nag as the Chairperson and Smt. Sharada Pandey as the Secretary.
The group purchases cow dung and skillfully processes it into valuable vermicompost in the village Gauthan. This organic compost is then sold through a fair price shop. As a result of their endeavours, the group has earned an income of nearly Rs 84,753. This success has translated into individual achievements as well, with each member earning about Rs 8,475 as income.
Prior to joining the Godhan NYAY Yojana, the members of the Jay Shriram Self-Help Group were involved in various activities including MNREGA as daily wage labour, as well as traditional farming practices. The Gauthan presented an empowering opportunity, enabling the group members to channel their skills and dedication towards generating additional income. Remarkably, the Gauthan work demands only a few hours of their time, making it an efficient and rewarding undertaking.
Filled with joy and gratitude, the members of the Jay Shriram Self-Help Group expressed their heartfelt appreciation to Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel for conceptualizing and implementing this transformative scheme.
